"Washes Whiter Than" é o primeiro registro com a voz marcante de Greg.X.Volz, é simplesmente um disco maravilhoso, uma benção recheada de 10 canções marcantes onde merecem destaque as clássicas"Why Should the Father Bother", "Yahweh Love", "Taste and See" e "I Am Thankful", que estréia hein?
Apesar da boa qualidade desse disco, "Washes Whiter Than" foi construido num momento turbulento do Petra, houve uma debandada na formação e ficaram só Bob Hartman e Greg que tinha acabado de chegar ao grupo, mas nem isso conseguiu desestabilizar o grupo que seguiu triunfando com sucesso.
